Barry is a proactive head-hunter, utilising the latest technology to uncover qualified professionals across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. A high percentage of candidates placed are not actively seeking work, so need to be ‘headhunted’ – sourced, interviewed and placed.
Technology
Rather than relying on adverts alone, there are a number of digital systems and tools with which to search for suitable candidates, but they are only as good as the user. Barry has received extensive training on search techniques, directly from Seek as one example, and has been training both new and experienced Recruiters for many years.
Diligence
Delivering Retained Search and Market Mapping projects require exceptional diligence. The client expects to see every piece of data from the desired locations, so repeatedly delivering on these key requirements takes the highest level of attention to detail.
Understanding
Developing a holistic understanding of how a construction contractor bids, plans and delivers a project, covering financial, resourcing, procurement, engineering and design, safety, communication and every other detail, comes purely from experience. With many years of learning from Engineers, HR Managers, and business unit leaders up to CEO level, Barry understands the process and where the risk points lie.
In seven years’ service at Zenith Search, Barry achieved four promotions and held the Associate Director title for the last three years. Running the East Coast civil construction division, Barry has built two active business units prior to establishing Seven7.
